“I joined Heron in July 2021 as a Store Manager Designate (SMD). After just three months, I was given the opportunity to trial-run a store over the festive period. The success of this trial, supported by a fantastic team, led to my move to another store where I was quickly promoted to Store Manager. Within 14 months at Heron, I was proud to be awarded Area Store Manager of the Year, a significant personal achievement.

I was later moved to the largest store in the area. While I enjoyed my role as a Store Manager, I wanted to contribute more to the business. I have always been passionate about supporting new managers and colleagues to progress, just as I had been supported. When the opportunity arose to join the training team, I applied and, with the backing of my Area Manager, secured the role of Retail Trainer."
