“I joined Heron Foods in April 2018 as a picking operative on the morning shift. From the very beginning, I was given opportunities to develop, and the following year I progressed into a workplace trainer role, supporting and welcoming new starters to the business.
Shortly after, I was offered a supervisor position on the afternoon shift. I spent four years in this role, gaining valuable leadership experience while also taking two periods of maternity leave. In April 2024, I was proud to progress into my current role as Operations Manager.
I started my journey with Heron Foods at the age of 23 and am now 31 with a young family. One of the things I value most about working at Heron is the excellent work–life balance. The shift patterns have allowed me to spend meaningful time with my family, something that isn’t always possible in a traditional Monday-to-Friday role."
